Eadestownbury, nestled just outside Naas in Eadestown in County Kildare, is a grassroots festival like no other.
Eadestownbury, based just outside Naas in Eadestown in County Kildare, is a grassroots festival like no other. This event began in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic when the music industry was in a lull, and festival-goers wanted a place to celebrate the spirit of live music. Eadestown painted the perfect backdrop for this music-filled gathering.
What began as a humble affair has grown exponentially, drawing in names like Tebi Rex, Boots and Kats, SHEE and Jen Payne, alongside budding stars in the music landscape. But despite hosting renowned names, Eadestownbury remains a small-scale festival where friendship thrives; a place where everyone is not just familiar but friends, and where every name is known and celebrated.
At Eadestownbury, you won’t find the impersonal crowds of larger festivals. Instead, it’s a close-knit community where everyone feels like a friend, and you’re sure to know your neighbour’s name. The festival’s small size creates an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that sets it apart from its larger counterparts. It’s a place where talent is celebrated, no matter how big or small, and where emerging artists receive the same enthusiasm and appreciation as established headliners.
What truly distinguishes Eadestownbury is its remarkable dedication to female leadership. In an industry often dominated by men, this festival is proudly run primarily by women. The organising team consists of close friends and even family members, working together with a shared passion to create something extraordinary.
Eadestownbury stands as a testament to its community-centric ethos. Nothing is kept for profit; every ounce of effort and every penny earned is reinvested back into the festival. For Eadestownbury, it’s not about making money but about uniting the community through the magic of music.
As Eadestownbury enters its 2023 edition, it has blossomed into a two-day celebration, promising even more unforgettable moments. Looking ahead, the festival aims to expand in 2024, introducing a third day dedicated to family-friendly entertainment, providing an opportunity to give back to the Eadestown and Kildare community. This expansion is a testament to the festival’s commitment to involving the local community and showcasing the incredible talent that resides right on its doorstep. Eadestownbury, where music, community, and friendship intertwine to create an unforgettable experience for all.
